Palliative Care – An Update

Workshop for Nursing Students of College of Nursing, Holy Family Hospital, New Delhi

Prof. Dr. Raminder Kalra, Principal, College of Nursing, Holy Family Hospital inaugurated the workshop. The faculties from DNipCare disseminated on the subjects as under:

Professional Self Care for Nurses: Mr. Rathish Nair, Secretary, Indian Nursing Council, Delhi.

Pain Management in Cancer for Nurses: Dr. Puneet Rathore Dr. BRA IRCH, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Role of Nurses in Palliative Care: Dr. C N Bhargavi, Senior Faculty, College of Nursing, Dr.RML Hospital, New Delhi, Honorary Treasurer, Trained Nurses Association of India.

Community Based Palliative Care: Mr. K. V. Hamza, General Secretary, DNipCare. Communication and Breaking Bad News: Mrs. Annie Kumar,Senior Faculty, College of Nursing, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Vice President, Delhi Nursing Council.

Introduction and Need for Palliative Care: Mrs. Jessy Shaji Paul, Sr. Nursing Officer AIIMS, New Delhi.

Mr. Suresh Thaliyaril, Secretary, DNipCare coordinated the workshop and Mr. PK Abdul Kareem, IES, Economic Adviser, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and DNipCare Volunteer felicitated the
faculties and gave the vote of thanks.
