We have had a satisfactory year in 2017. We have established two more Link Centres during the year to make it 18 in all. We look forward to implementing more in 2018, with your blessings!
Alpha Palliative Care is a chain of centers run by one one of the CC member from Kerela, Mr. K. M. Noordeen.
Alpha Charitable Trust was established on 11th August 1994 with an objective to improve the quality of life of human beings without discrimination, irrespective of race, religion, caste, creed and political affiliation. Alpha palliative care is the first initiative which commenced in the year 2005.
Nammude Arogyam Primary Care Centres and Community Hospitals commenced in the year 2017 and is the second initiative in the continuous endeavor.
Activities of 2017
January 7
Initiated a Healthcare Programme called Nammude Arogyam (Our Health) aimed at establishing Primary Care Centres (PCC) in Panchayaths and Community Hospitals for Secondary Care in Block panchayath Levels. The project was presented to a selected group of people by way of Documentary Presentation followed by discussion in Thrissur. The aim of the project is to avail diagnostic facilities to common people at very affordable cost and thereby reducing the number instances needing Palliative care.
January 13
Conducted Nammude Arogyam – Arogya Sandesa Jadha by foot in 12 panchaths where about 500,000 people are living. It was repeated from Eriyd to Engandiyur total 12 panchayats.

World Palliative Care day Pathayathra (Walkathon) conducted by Alpha Chattanjal Unit, Kasargod district in Kerala.

A Dinner and Get together conducted at Jawhar Convention Center, Sharjah, by members of Alpha Palliative Council in UAE.
April 18
Alpha Wedding of daughters of patients who are at the bottom of the economic pyramid. Alpha conducts such weddings with full religious rites of the respective brides, twice every year. Chief guests in this wedding were Captain Vivek Bali and his friend who is also a Captain.
May 1
Alpha Palliative Care Ollur Link Centre Inauguration by Sri. K.M. Noordeen, 17th such centre run by Alpha Palliative care. Each Link centre is a base for conducting home care to people suffering from incurable conditions of diseases and have Punarjani (Re-birth) centre to where people with restricted mobility are brought in a van for regular physiotherapy. Link Centres have day care facility too.

Haritha Santhwanam (Green Palliation) Koythulsavam (paddy harvesting) Inauguration by Smt. Byna Pradeep, President, Edathiruthy Grama Panchayath.
May 30
Alpha First Volunteer Mrs Subhadra Anandan Soft opening Nammude Arogyam Community Hospital, Mathilakam. 6000 families having paid Rs 100 per month are receiving free treatment (except the cost of Medicine) from the community hospital. A second community hospital is planned in Chentrappinni in the west Coast of Thrissur District.

Thahira Noordeen, Trustee, Alpha Charitable Trust distributed several scholarships to the children of Patients and Pensioners of the Trust.

Alpha Palliative Care Vellangallur Link Centre Inauguration by Sri V. R. Sunilkumar MLA. With this Alpha completes 18 Link Centres, providing palliative care to 5,600 people on any given day!

Students Association Association of Palliative Care 3rd State Conference started with a Walkathon to declare their empathy with people suffering from pain and distress. Walkathon flag off and torch handing over by Sri. Yathish chandra IPS, District Police Chief, Thrissur Rural.
About 2000 students took part in Walkathon 2017 at Thrissur Swaraj Round.

Alpha arranged free Medical Check up and drinking water supply to the victims of Okhi cyclone in the affected areas at west coast of Thrissur District.
Cleaning of Okhi Cyclone affected area at kodungallur under the leadership of Alpha Link Centre Volunteers.

The meeting of the office bearers at Alpha Kanhang ad Link Center in Kaseragod. A committee was formed from the members of an enthusiastic crowd wanting to set up a new Link Centre in Kanhgangad, 30 kilometres from the existing Link centre in Kaseragod.

Nammude Arogyam Community Hospital Dialysis Centre Inauguration by Sri Kochouseph chittilappilly, a well respected social worker, at Nammude Arogyam Community Hospital, Mathilakam. Chief Guest: Sri M. R. Ajith Kumar IPS IG of Police, Thrissur. Sri. Kochouseph Chittilappilly offered 1,000 dialysis sponsorship in every year. 16 Dialysis machines are put to work to provide free dialysis as a part of Palliative care.
